This is for kind information of all concerned that the Labour and Employment Act of Bhutan came into force w.e.f 20th February, 2007 and the Act extends to the whole of Bhutan. Section 219 of the Act states that “No person shall employ a foreigner unless the employer has an approval of the Chief Labour Administrator to employ a foreigner”.

Notification for Employers & Agents of Foreign workers.

Please be informed that you will not be able to apply on the Labour Net for renewal of the work permits if it is not applied before 15 days of the term expiry in which case the foreign workers should be repatriated and no considerations shall be made from this Department.

This is to notify all the enterprises in the private and corporate sectors that the Ministry of Labour & Human Resources has released the 14 Regulations under the Labour & Employment Act 2007 on 10th November 2009 and came into effect on 11th November 2009 in an effort to strengthen the Labour Administration in the country.

Re-inviting Proposal for Foreign Workers Recruitment Agents in Samdrupjongkhar

The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources would like to re-invite Proposals from Bhutanese interested to operate as licensed Foreign Workers Recruitment Agents in Samdrupjongkhar.
