 ENTRY PERMIT

What is an entry permit?

It is an entry pass issued to an Indian by the Immigration Department permitting him/her to enter the country. The entry permit is required to be presented to Immigration, Royal Bhutan Check Posts and to Immigration and Labour Inspectors during field inspection at regular intervals.



Who needs an entry permit?

Any foreigner who wishes to enter Bhutan for the purpose of employment or as a tourist or to meet any relatives or for any other specific purpose.



Who should apply for an entry permit?

A prospective employer if it is for the purpose of employment or the foreigner himself/herself if the purpose of entry is for a tour or to meet a relative.

Where to apply for an entry permit?

To the Regional Immigration Office in Phuntsholing, Samtse, Gelephug, or Samdrupjongkhar.
